This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclosure, and safeguard your information when you use our service specifically related to the Synap Control Plane and Data Pod orchestration.
2. The Data Pod Architecture
Unique to Synap, we operate on a "Data Pod" architecture. While we orchestrate the creation and management of server instances ("Pods"), you retain ownership and control of the data stored within your Pod. We do not have standing access to the contents of your Data Pod databases unless explicitly granted by you for support purposes.
3. Information We Collect
Personal Data
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for the Service, specifically:
• Name and Email Address
• Payment Information (processed via our secure payment provider, Bebop)
• GitHub Account details (if used for authentication)
Usage Data
We may collect information about how you access and use the Control Plane, including your IP address, browser type, and operating system.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Provision and manage your Data Pods via cloud providers (Hetzner, OVH).
• Process your subscription payments.
• Send you administrative information, such as health check alerts or billing invoices.
• Monitor the health of your Data Pod (uptime checks).
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with the following third parties as necessary to provide the Service:
• Cloud Providers (Hetzner, OVH): To provision server infrastructure on your behalf.
• Payment Processors (Bebop): To process subscription payments.
• Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so.
6. Your Data Rights
Depending on your location (e.g., EEA, UK, California), you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You can manage most of your data directly within the "Account Settings" section of the dashboard.
